Dear Anderson Families,

What a pleasure it is to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope everyone had a fun and
relaxing summer break. I am extremely proud to serve as principal of Anderson for the seventh school
year, and I am also proud that this is my twenty-seventh year in education. This new school year brings
the promise of a renewed dedication, focus, and energy to the mission of teaching and learning. With that
said, Open House for our Elementary Students will be Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 1:00 PM- 3:00
PM. Also, Clayton County Public Schools announces its annual Back to School Bash: Blueprint for
Success This will take place Saturday, July 27, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing to 12:00 PM.
The site for this event will be at Morrow Highschool and the address is, 4930 Steele Road Ellenwood, GA
30294. 
Next, I would like to welcome all of our new families, whether you are joining us from another school in
the district or have relocated from another city, state, or country.  Our teachers, support staff, and families
are ready to welcome you to Anderson.
This year, our focus will be on ensuring that all students perform on grade level.  We will work
diligently during the first eight weeks of school, transitioning students who need additional support
from prerequisite skills to grade-level standards. We understand that we need to continue to address
the unfinished learning by accelerating students so that we can continue to close the achievement
gaps. Literacy skills, numeracy skills, and writing skills will be a significant focus.  Reading must
Reign Supreme at Anderson!  Parents, I need your support with ensuring all students read daily at
home.
I request your engagement and active participation this school year.  Please note that I have an
open-door policy and welcome your ideas, concerns, and questions.  I look forward to seeing all
students, parents, and teachers within the coming week.

• Open House will be Wednesday, July 31st at Anderson Elementary from 1-3.
• First Day of School will be Thursday, August 1st .
• School Curriculum Night will be Thursday, September 5th from 5-7.
