Professional Experience: I Substituted in DeKalb for 6 years and did my student teaching in Freedom Middle School. I started my certified teaching experience at South Metro GNETS.
Favorite elementary school memory: I went to Catholic School during Elementary, I remember sitting in a small room with a Curious George that reached the ceiling, and we could sit on him and read.
Why did I enter the field of education? I decided to go into teaching when I had a middle life career change. I was always teaching people how to do different things they did not know how to do. I left my Position at Emory and substituted in DeKalb for 6 years I was helping a former friend with her classes in Special Education. I liked working with the special ed students, so I decided to go back to school for a MA while helping her complete her BS.
Hobbies: Tae Kwon Do, Practicing at the Range and going to the Gym
Favorites: Chocolate, Shopping and Traveling
Proudest Professional Moment: One of my proudest moments was being the Technology Liaison and working to teach the staff and students to use the technology that the county is providing.
What am I looking forward to this year? I am looking forward to being in a calmer environment with colleagues that are pleasant and respectful.
